Figure Drawing

Six Thursdays, June 20 - August 1 (No Class July 4)

Through demonstrations, studio practice, and one-on-one tutoring, students will investigate techniques for drawing the human figure within traditional and contemporary approaches. With these goals in mind, students will create a series of works based in live figure drawing from a nude and clothed model. Formal issues will include the use of anatomical proportions, value, and composition. Readings, class discussions, and critiques will enhance studio work time. Individual portfolio progress will be emphasized.
